This album pays homage to some of the greats of the big band movement and composition in Jazz the use of the nonet and exponents to create various forms of dissonance pushing through the realms of larger ensembles.
Also the tuba is bought back in as its such a key part in jazz as its a huge part of the kansas city style.But what differs is that you have double bass with the tuba so it adds this real low end that opens up huge extremities in the cluster .
