Homage to a great master of the Cor his story is also a very deeply sad depressing story of a battle with alcoholism that he sadly took him . Those days for black / creole / ethnic musicians the integration into the types of places that could help him were near to impossible . Same with parker ,charles bobo shaw , wood shaw these places weren't equipped with the necessary conscious understanding to help .
These places were mainly populated with white Americans who still even after the jim crow laws being abolished were not necessarily open to these cats coming into fellowship.
I am blessed enough to be in the modern where racial issues have shifted paradigms and thos struggles they went through have hopefully changed for the better.
